A new educational resource in agriculture is on the horizon. As agriculture industries around the globe have become more complex, so has the challenge of attracting talent to careers in agriculture. Long gone are the days when only those who were practicing agriculturists mattered to ag companies. Today, the broad scope of business means that professionals of all backgrounds must come together to ensure the success of our industry.
The Foundation for Agricultural Resource Management (FARM) is proud to announce that another critical step in training tomorrow’s leaders is underway. Currently, leaders in education and business are coming together to help prepare our industry for the human resource needs of the next era in agriculture.
We plan to bring together the sharpest minds from many professional backgrounds: law, engineering, medicine, business, and social sciences, for example. As students of our program, these persons will be exposed for one year to the fundamental concepts and opportunities of agriculture. What is the result?
Our industry will have access to employment candidates who are not only versed in the details of their profession, but who have also studied the concepts of agriculture and understand how their professional skills can be utilized throughout the agriculture industry.
